The State Government of Tamil Nadu had organized a pledge taking ceremony to ensure a "Drug Free Tamil Nadu", on 3 September, 2022. The event was graced by Thiru Ma Subramanian, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare. He exhorted the students to commit themselves in upholding Tamil Nadu as Drug Free State.
